Publication status: individual research report, not a population clinical trial. The original report carries Magda Havas’s Trent University affiliation. This does not by itself establish institutional endorsement, funding independence or a journal peer-review process.
Researcher: Magda Havas. Experiment: August 18, 2015; report dated August 29. Sample: one 52-year-old woman reporting electromagnetic sensitivity, taking blood-pressure medication and anticoagulants. Device: Aires Defender Infinity.
Protocol
A 2.4 GHz cordless-phone base was used near the participant. The fixed sequence was baseline, RF plus the device, then RF plus placebo. The placebo consisted of two credit cards in a pouch. The report describes blinding of the participant and HRV interpreter.
What was observed?
Some MaxPulse pulse-wave indices improved in the device condition. Other indices, including some stress-related scores, were better during the placebo condition. Heart rate and blood pressure did not improve, and orthostatic HRV changed little. The measurements did not show a reduction in external RF exposure or body current.
How much can this establish?
This is an exploratory case observation. A fixed sequence cannot separate a device effect from time, rest, order or carryover. The report discusses carryover as an explanation, but its design cannot establish that explanation. It supplies no population-level effect estimate. Claims about live-blood changes were not supported by quantitative blinded scoring in this report. The author recommended more participants and repeated observations.
An instrument’s regulatory classification is not FDA approval of the Aires product or of the conclusions drawn from its readings.

Sources and disclosure
This is an Aires editorial summary. Aires sells the products discussed and has a commercial interest in the research. Institutional affiliation, an external author, or a third-party opinion alone does not establish financial independence. Where a linked report does not establish funding or the sponsor’s role, those details remain unconfirmed. Original researchers retain authorship of their work.
The original-source evidence library distinguishes journal articles, conference papers, research reports and expert opinions. Reports, translations and later manuscripts describing the same experiment should not be counted as independent replications.
