Who Is Taking EMF Seriously — And Why It Matters
In our modern world, we are surrounded by technology. Smartphones, Wi-Fi routers, smartwatches, and wireless headphones have become integral to daily life. But a growing number of prominent figures — medical professionals, researchers, public figures, and athletes — are raising substantive questions about the health implications of the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) these devices emit. Here is what they are saying, and why it has implications for three specific groups: those who are sick and seeking an explanation, those investing in preventive care, and those pursuing peak performance.
Who's Talking About EMF?
Doctors Raising Awareness
Dr. Jill Carnahan, a board-certified integrative medicine physician, has extensively studied the effects of EMF on brain health. She warns that EMFs can disrupt the delicate balance of brain chemistry, leading to symptoms like headaches, insomnia, and cognitive decline. A cancer patient herself, she has built her clinical practice around addressing toxins from every angle — including electromagnetic exposure. Hear more from Dr. Carnahan on the Wave Forward Podcast.
Dr. Robert Turner, a neurologist and epileptologist, has publicly linked EMF exposure to cardiovascular problems and increased cancer risk, and warned about EMF interference with metabolic processes that can lead to insulin resistance and chronic inflammation.
Dr. Rob Brown, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist, states: "EMF, like many other toxins, causes oxidative stress which brings the damage right down to the cellular level. If the cell is under stress then it doesn't function properly, and you can extrapolate that to organ systems. Eventually the whole organism can become damaged because the individual cells are stressed."
The Academic World
Dr. Martin Pall, Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences at Washington State University, has stated: "Thousands of published studies show biological and health effects from electromagnetic fields. This new understanding means we can debunk the claims of the wireless industry…The 20 years plus of industry propaganda claims are false."
Dr. Devra Davis, research scientist and former president of the Environmental Health Trust, has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and testified before Congress on cell phone radiation. She asks: "Do you want to play Russian Roulette with your brain?"
Dr. Kent Chamberlin, Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Hampshire and current president of the Environmental Health Trust, served on the New Hampshire State Commission exploring the impacts of wireless radiation. Hear from Dr. Chamberlin on the Wave Forward Podcast.
Public Figures Pushing for Change
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., environmental attorney and now HHS Secretary, has argued that a precautionary approach to EMF exposure is warranted given the potential health risks. He was lead counsel in a successful legal challenge against the FCC for failing to justify its 1996 EMF safety limits in light of current research.
Celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow have raised similar concerns publicly. Paltrow has noted: "It's almost impossible to remember a time without smartphones, which makes it equally easy to forget that the technology is still relatively new, with safety requirements that, for the most part, are generally untested. The scientific community's rumblings about brain cancer and the new-to-us affliction 'electro-sensitivity' are worth exploring."
Athletes Pursuing Peak Performance
UFC fighter Maycee Barber, a professional athlete for whom health, wellness, and recovery are competitive variables, has stated: "I conducted thorough research on the impact of electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) on our bodies, leading me to seek a company with expertise in counteracting EMF's harmful effects." Following the UFC's official partnership with Aires Tech, more professional athletes have begun using field coherence modification technology as part of their performance protocols. NBA player RJ Barrett and Tom Brady are among those who have spoken publicly about reducing wireless exposure.
Why Should You Care?
Relieving Sickness and Mystery Symptoms
A growing number of people with unexplained symptoms — insomnia, migraines, fatigue, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, dizziness — have found improvement after systematically reducing EMF exposure. Nutritionist Shirley Plant, a Wave Forward Podcast guest, hired an environmental EMF expert to measure her home and discovered her exposure was substantially elevated. After implementing exposure reduction measures including wired connections and Aires field coherence modification technology, her health improved significantly. Her experience is representative of many people whose symptoms resolved when the electromagnetic burden on their nervous system was reduced.
Preventing Future Illness
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization, has classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as Group 2B — possibly carcinogenic to humans, with specific concern about glioma risk. U.S. EMF safety regulations have not been updated since 1996 — before Wi-Fi was widely deployed and before smartphones existed. The MAHA Commission, established by executive order in February 2025, has formally mandated study of electromagnetic radiation as a contributing factor to childhood chronic disease. For children, who absorb proportionally more EMF than adults and face decades of cumulative exposure, precautionary reduction is especially warranted.
Achieving Peak Performance
For athletes and anyone whose life requires sustained physical and cognitive performance, EMF burden is a variable worth managing. EMF exposure has been documented to impair sleep quality through autonomic disruption, generate oxidative stress that compounds the oxidative load of exercise, and reduce HRV coherence — a key marker of recovery capacity. Athletes like LeBron James incorporate EMF protection into their recovery protocols. The VMA 2024 clinical study (24 subjects, EEG + ECG) documented that mobile phone EMF activated CNS arousal pathways and reduced HRV coherence, and that Aires Lifetune ONE reversed these effects over a 7-day wear period.
What Aires Tech Research Adds
Aires devices use a patented silicon microprocessor with a fractal diffraction pattern that modifies field coherence properties of ambient electromagnetic fields. Multiple independent studies have documented measurable biological effects: the VGTU engineering study (2016) confirmed the device physically restructures EMF waveforms; the VMA clinical study (2024) documented CNS arousal reversal in 24 human subjects; and the Sysoev/Rybina EEG study (2025) documented statistically significant brainwave normalization versus sham across five stages. These studies answer the two questions that matter most: does the device physically alter EMF? And does that alteration produce a real biological effect? The research answers both affirmatively.
