That was me for a while. I wasn’t sick. I wasn’t burnt out. But I also wasn’t feeling like myself. Sleep felt shallow. My brain was foggy. I’d wake up groggy, stay wired all evening, and spend most of the day just trying to keep up. I was constantly overstimulated, but couldn’t pinpoint the reason.


Then I started learning about EMFs.


At first, I was skeptical. But the more I read, the more I started noticing the subtle things - like how my head felt after hours on my phone, or how deeply I slept when I unplugged the Wi-Fi. It wasn’t dramatic. It was cumulative. The more small shifts I made, the better I felt.


I didn’t give up modern life. I didn’t toss my tech or live off-grid. I just made a few simple changes. And my body noticed.

First, What Are EMFs?

EMFs (electromagnetic fields) are invisible waves of energy released by electronics. They come from phones, laptops, Bluetooth devices, smart appliances, routers, and more. Some are low-frequency, others high. But we’re surrounded by them constantly, and exposure is only increasing.

What I Changed (and What Happened Next)

I didn’t overhaul everything at once. Honestly, I couldn’t have. When I first started learning about EMFs, I had a demanding job, limited time, and no desire to micromanage my life. But these changes were easy to implement - they made a real difference in how I felt. I started small, noticed a difference, and slowly added more over time, especially after becoming a mother.


1. I turn off our Wi-Fi at night.

This one’s as simple as flipping a switch. The first few nights, I noticed I fell asleep faster. Then I started waking up without that wired-but-tired feeling. It’s now a non-negotiable part of our evening routine.


2. I keep my phone out of the bedroom.

Instead of sleeping next to my phone, I charge it outside the room and switch it to airplane mode before bed. I use a small battery-powered alarm clock. No buzzing, no blue light, no background radiation humming by my head all night.


3. I switched to wired headphones.

Bluetooth used to be my go-to. But after long calls or podcasts, I’d feel cloudy and overstimulated. Switching to wired headphones helped more than I expected. It’s such a simple change - and my head feels clearer.


4. I skipped smart baby gear.

When I became a mama, I was already thinking twice about the tech we bring into our homes. I chose not to use a Wi-Fi monitor or any “smart” gear near my daughter while she slept. We kept our space quiet and low-tech.


5. I added Aires devices.
