“The definition of wellness is your body functioning at its optimal potential.”
-Dr. David Erb.
We’ve all been there: zeroing in on mystery symptoms, trying everything to feel better – from the latest therapies to a range of supplements – hoping anything will help. But what if just addressing the symptoms isn’t the answer?
That’s the idea Dr. David Erb brings to the table on a recent episode of The Wave Forward podcast. As an experienced chiropractor and passionate health advocate, Dr. Erb reminds us that the goal isn’t to cover up symptoms, it’s to find the cause, fix the cause, and help people thrive.
Who is Dr. David Erb?
Dr. Erb has been practicing family chiropractic care for 20 years alongside his wife, Dr. Kimberly Erb. Together, they’ve served everywhere from their hometown to a clinic in Zimbabwe, and they even treated athletes at the London Olympics. At their practice, nicknamed “The Miracle Factory,” they’ve helped countless patients reclaim their health.
Treating the Root Cause
One of the biggest questions Dr. Erb asks his patients is simple but powerful. Are we treating symptoms, or are we looking for the cause?
It’s a mindset shift. So often we assume a “quick fix” worked because it made a symptom go away, but in many cases, the underlying issue is still there. Sometimes it’s from something we can’t even see, like chemical exposure or environmental stressors like electromagnetic fields (EMFs).
EMFs and Health
Our tech has brought undeniable convenience and ease to our lives, but it also comes with invisible stressors we’re just beginning to understand. In recent years, Dr. Erb has experienced more and more patients coming into his practice with parotid gland tumors, which are located near the ears. In talking with the surgeon who is regularly removing these tumors, he found these appear on whichever side the patient favors for cell phone use.
It doesn’t stop with phones. Bluetooth devices, wireless earbuds, smart watches – they all emit EMFs. And while these devices are tested for safety, those tests are based on a 200-pound adult male mannequin – meaning kids, teens, and smaller adults weren’t considered in setting these safety guidelines.
Taking Precautions to Support Your Body
Research is still evolving on EMFs and health effects, but enough evidence has emerged to encourage precaution. Here are some practical tips to reduce potential health effects from EMF exposure:
Skip the AirPods: Just 15 minutes of use can heat brain tissue for up to three hours. Over time, that heating and cooling cycle adds up. When possible, choose wired headphones instead.
Keep devices off the body: Carrying our phones in our pockets might be convenient, but remember – phones are emitting signals even when we aren’t actively using them.
Be mindful of cumulative exposure. It’s not just the phone – it’s also your Wi-Fi router, smart appliances, and even smart meters outside your home.
Clean up your electromagnetic environment. There’s no need to ditch all the tech you love. Aires technology reshapes EMFs into a more biologically friendly form, helping create an environment that promotes health.
Our Electric Selves
Dr. Erb shares something many of us don’t think about: our bodies as electrical systems. The brain, the spine, the nerves – they all rely on electrical signals to keep everything running smoothly.
That’s where Dr. Erb’s practice comes in. Even a slight misalignment in the spine can throw off the entire nervous system, leading to a fight-or-flight response. Over time, this stress impacts everything from how cells eliminate waste to how they replicate DNA.
According to Dr. Erb, “The nervous system functioning well is the center point for your body’s ability to function at all.” Supporting our nervous system is key to maintaining optimal wellness. And with our nervous systems being electrically active, EMFs could potentially influence this complex network that transmits signals throughout our body.
That’s where Aires comes in – creating a calm digital environment that supports our nervous systems, helping to keep our bodies thriving.
Find the Cause, Fix the Cause
Dr. Erb’s approach to health is refreshingly simple? Find the cause. Fix the cause. Whether that means adjusting your spine, cutting back on Bluetooth devices, or making Aires a part of your wellness toolbox, it’s all part of the same mission – restoring balance to the body so it can do what it’s designed to do: heal.
